She will be forever missed by her three children, son Jeffrey W. She will also be remembered for her many years working at Walmart in Watkins Glen, and as a member of the Dundee Baptist Church. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1968, and went on to graduate from the Elmira Beauty School. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Mazza) son John (Marianne) of West Point, NY daughter Debra Gonyeau (Steve) of Hudson Falls, NY, and grandchildren Lauren and Grace Loose and Nathan and Cameron Gonyeau. After his retirement in 1997, he and Barb shared their time between Watkins Glen, Queensbury, NY and The Villages, FL. He was a great mentor, and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was hard working but knew how to have fun. Jim was a lifelong learner who loved to read, particularly history and politics. He happily spent many afternoons on the sidelines of his children’s and grandchildren’s games and meets. He loved to watch all kinds of sporting events, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Syracuse Orangemen. He shot a hole in one on the 10th hole at Heather Hills Golf Club. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends golfing, camping, and traveling. Jim had many wonderful friends he considered family. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen, First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, NY and the North Lake Presbyterian Church in Lady Lake, FL. Jim was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary. Jim and his wife Barbara raised their family in Watkins Glen, where he was a lifetime member of the Elks, Moose and Rotary Clubs. Jim was instrumental in designing and engineering the power system for the plant. He spent his career at the salt plant, working his way up to become the plant manager. Upon completing his service, Jim started his career as an Engineer at International Salt Company in Watkins Glen, NY. ![]() After graduation, he served in the Merchant Marines as a licensed Engineer. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1957 and attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1961. Jim was born in Martinsburg, PA on August 13, 1939.
